ANKARA (A.A) - 15.06.2009 - Turkey's foreign minister said Monday controversies over presidential elections in Iran were Iran's internal affairs.
Prior to his departure for an overseas tour to Luxembourg, Germany and the United States, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu held a press conference at Ankara's Esenboga Airport. He said that Iran was an important neighbor of Turkey for the stability of the region and that Turkish government wanted to continue deep-rooted relations with its neighboring country Iran. Davutoglu also said that there were good news about accession negotiations between Turkey and the European Union. He said Turkey has submitted its negotiation position paper on taxation chapter. "I hope and I believe that taxation chapter will be opened during Czech Republic's EU presidency," Davutoglu said. Czech Republic took over the six-month rotating presidency of the EU on January 1. Czech Republic will hand over the presidency to Sweden on July 1. (TÇ-EÖ) Kaynak : Anadolu Ajansı
