BUCHAREST (A.A) - 03.07.2009 - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met Friday with members of the Turkish community in Bucharest as part of his visit to the Romanian capital.
Delivering a speech at the meeting, Davutoglu called Romania-based Turkish businesspeople to extend support to the Turkish citizens living in Romania. Davutoglu urged Turkish people living in the country to blend in with the Romanian people. "You constitute a culture bridge between the two countries and each of you represent Turkey," he said. The foreign minister also visited a Turkish memorial cemetery in Bucharest, and laid a wrath for near one thousand Turkish troops who fell in Romania during the First World War. Davutoglu met with earlier today with Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc, Senate President Mircea Geoana, Foreign Minister Cristian Diaconescu and President of the Chamber of Deputies Roberta Alma Anastase.
